The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) organized an end of year party which brought together staff and their families from the three offices in Accra, Tema and Takoradi.

The Minister of Transport Hon. Kwaku Asiamah, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central and other invited guests from the Ministry of Transport graced the occasion. The highly anticipated event took place at the Head office of the GMA in Accra on 22nd December 2017.

The Director General, Mr. Kwame Owusu thanked the Honorable Minister, Members of Parliament, staff and everyone for accepting and taking time off their busy schedules to grace the occasion.

He also expressed his gratitude to Management and the staff for the support and cooperation given to him during his short time in office. He urged the staff to continue the hard work and dedication they have shown in coming the year of 2018.

Mr. Owusu spoke about the future plans of the Authority such as new office buildings and expectations in the New Year towards making the Authority bigger, stronger and better in terms of efficient and effective execution of duties to contribute towards the nation building.

The Hon. Minister of Transport on his part also commended Management and Staff for their hard work and dedication to duty. He promised that the Ministry would assist the Authority in every way it could to help in implementing its mandate.

Some Staff who had served the Authority for the past ten years and more were honoured and awarded with certificates for their hard work and dedication. Staff were also assured of promotion in the coming year if they worked hard.

The memorable event was climaxed by a raffle draw which saw some members of staff and their families walk away with gifts, such as 32-inch and 52-inch television sets.

Winners of the raffle included Mr. Roland Nii Ashie Abossey, Mr. Seth Afortey Odai and Mrs. Rita Abass (wife of Mr. Abass Bawa), won a 32-inch television sets, with Mr.  Daniel Osei winning the ultimate prize of the 50-inch NASCO television set.

There was lots to eat and drink and of course merry making and dancing into the night.
